  • RESOLUTION

Should your source material not align with any of the containers mentioned earlier, it will either be letterboxed, pillarboxed, or resized to fit. To ensure precise conversion, we advise providing source material in resolutions corresponding to these containers. Kindly indicate if the aspect ratio of your content undergoes any changes during film playback.

If you are submitting anamorphic content, please specify the pixel aspect ratio when making your order. Note that DCI does not endorse anamorphic projection.

  • COLOR

Every DCP is conformed to the industry-standard DCI-P3 color space within the XYZ target color gamut.

To ensure accurate conversion of your source master for DCP, it is essential to correctly identify the grade of your source material. Some commonly accepted grades include:

    • sRGB
    • Rec709 (gamma 2.2, 2.35, 2.4)
    • P3 DCI
    • P3 D65

In cases where a color space is unspecified, it will be assumed that the source material follows Rec709 gamma 2.2. All source materials should be delivered in an RGB target color gamut. Only source materials color-timed to the P3 DCI color space will be accepted within the XYZ target color gamut.

  • FRAME RATES

    • To ensure optimal compatibility, it is recommended to master DCPs at 24 fps.
    • Compliance with SMPTE Bv2.1 necessitates playback at 24 or 25 fps.
    • Keep in mind that framerates exceeding 25 fps may not be supported on numerous systems. Verify compatibility with your theater before proceeding.
  • AUDIO

Submit all audio tracks in the form of Uncompressed 24-bit PCM audio at a 48KHz sampling rate. Files that are multiplexed (muxed) or compressed, such as AC-3 or AAC, will not be considered.

    Ensure the following audio specifications:

    • Reference level (Ref level) should be set to -20dBFS.
    • Output level should be at 85dBc.

You may include audio within your video container (MOV, MXF, MP4) as long as it adheres to SMPTE standard channel assignments.
